Meet the Crew
Liam Killian
Born in South Africa and raised in Cape Town, Liam has always had saltwater in his veins. He grew up chasing waves and wind—surfing, kitesurfing, freediving, and fishing—so sailing was basically inevitable. One day, he and a friend wandered into the Cape Royal Yacht Club to “learn how to sail” and somehow ended up on a racing boat. That was it… he was hooked. Not long after, he set his sights on his Yachtmaster and turned his ocean obsession into a career.
Since then, Liam has delivered brand-new catamarans on some pretty epic journeys, crossing both the Atlantic and Pacific. When he’s not out at sea, he’s often elbow-deep in boat builds and refits—because he genuinely loves how boats work almost as much as where they can take you.
Onboard, Liam is known as the resident fish encyclopedia (a title earned from a childhood filled with aquariums and an alarming amount of fish facts). He loves helping guests fall in love with the ocean, too—whether that’s spotting marine life, sharing local knowledge, or teaching you the ropes and getting you sailing with confidence.

CHEF
Maria Richerand
Born and raised in Mexico, Maria’s first love was design—she studied architecture and even worked in Paris for two years, refining her eye for detail, balance, and making things look (and feel) just right. Then she met Liam… and he gently (and successfully) seduced her into the salty life. She may not have known much about the ocean at first, but she’d always been drawn to it—and once she got a taste of life onboard, there was no going back.
Since then, Maria has built a wonderfully hands-on career at sea as a cook/stew with strong deck skills. She’s worked weekly charters in Belize, spent 18 months on the water in the Cayman Islands, and joined a 92ft sailing yacht in the Med—picking up everything from cheffing and service to tender driving, docking support, and guiding dives. A qualified PADI Divemaster (and known to have a few fun stingray facts up her sleeve), Maria brings a calm, capable energy to every day onboard—plus the kind of food that makes guests feel instantly at home.
Her biggest “wow, we’re really doing this” moment so far? Crossing the Atlantic on a 62ft catamaran—and she’s only getting started, with her sights set on earning her skipper’s license next.
