Below is a typical itinerary for your week aboard Virgin Venture. Of course this is no more than a suggestion. The actual itinerary is always arrived at after discussion with yourself, usually over the charts and guide books at Captain's cocktail time, so that it reflects as far as possible the tastes and aspirations of your group. We always strive to achieve the happy mix of peaceful and tranquil bays or busy nightspots entirely dependent on the wishes of your group.
Day 1
Board Virgin Venture at noon at Village Cay Marina in Tortola. Sip a cool Pina Colada whilst cruising to Little Harbour on Peter Island. Peter Island is owned by Amway and boasts a beautiful resort, sandy beaches and breathtaking views.
After a scrumptious lunch, take full advantage of your surroundings. We have something for everyone. Spacious sun-mattresses for those who want to tan, snorkelling gear waiting to be used, water-sports equipment for the energetic and lots more!
Watch the sunset sipping champagne and savoring hors-d'oeuvres prepared for you by your chef.
Day 2
After a leisurely breakfast head out to The Caves on Norman Island, an uninhibited island reputed to be the Treasure Island of Robert Lewis Stevenson fame. Snorkel with very friendly fish and explore the shallow caves.
Lunch on homemade bread, pates and cheese before heading to Benures Bay. Here you can watch the pelicans dive for fish, snorkel the beautiful reefs or simply read a book. Whatever your hearts desire!
Day 3
Head up to The Baths at Virgin Gorda. Natural seawater pools have been created by uplift of gigantic boulders. Explore the pools and caves or relax on one of the many spectacular beaches.
Visit Spanish Town for some shopping before settling down to a light lunch on board Virgin Venture.
Head off to Long Bay for the afternoon. A breathtakingly beautiful bay, boasting an awesome reef and a sandy white beach. Enjoy The Captains Cocktail whilst watching the setting of the sun.
Day 4
After a full English Breakfast, head off to The North Sound. Visit the Famous Bitter End Resort and Marina and Biras Creek, which fronts on both the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean.
Travel by tender to Eustacia Sound Reef for great snorkelling and views of Richard Branson's private retreat, Necker Island.
Enjoy a candlelit dinner under the stars listening to the steel band playing in the background.
Day 5
Head off to Cane Garden Bay. This is picture postcard material, with a white, palm-fringed beach stretching the entire length of the bay. The beach is lined by several terrific bars and restaurants. Spend your day as you wish. There is lots of action ashore for those who want to keep busy and for those who don't, well there is always an available hammock shaded by palm trees.
Day 6
After a hearty breakfast, head off to White Bay at Jost Van Dyke. This is a relatively large, high island which lies to the North of Tortola. With a population of approximately 200 it remains relatively unspoiled. Jost Van Dyke is named after a Dutch pirate and is known as the birthplace of Dr John Lettsome in 1744. Dr Lettsome later returned to his native England and founded the London Medical Society as well as the Royal Humane Society.
White Bay boasts The Soggy Dollar Bar, a great place to relax and have a Painkiller. Be warned! The Painkiller is a delicious, but potent rum drink. Visit the world famous Foxy's Bar and restaurant. Foxy has travelled the world over and he has a bit of a talent with guitar and song - he will probably make up a ballad just for you.
Day 7
Head off to Sopers Hole, west end of Tortola. Here you will find Pussers Landing, featuring The Pussers Company Store. They carry a unique line of nautical and tropical clothing, watches, luggage, nautical accessories and even cigars.
After a delicious lunch prepared for you by your chef, head out to Privateer Bay for the afternoon. Watch the sea turtles from Virgin Venture's flybridge, snorkel amidst the schools of Blue Tangs, or simply relax in the sun.
Day 8
Wake up to a glorious morning. After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy your pristine surroundings before getting ready for your journey home.
Whatever itinerary you decide upon for your week aboard Virgin Venture, there are so many islands and anchorages in and around the BVI that there will always be more than enough new delights for another visit the following year.
Your itinerary is completely flexible depending on how active or relaxed you would like to be during your charter. Prior to your vacation the crew will be in touch to introduce themselves and discuss an itinerary outline with you. Ultimately this is your private yacht, so you can change your plans and stay longer in an area, or head off to new shores whenever you'd like - it is entirely up to you.
