Australian, 44 years old. Maxx started commercial fishing when he was 14 years old in Australia and continued for twelve years in this industry. He worked the 1987 America's Cup in Fremantle and started correspondence courses for MBA and a B.A in Human Resources, completing these in 1991/92.

Maxx has over 350,000 nautical miles under his belt, including three world voyages.
