Stewart and Donné Evans have strong roots in Africa having spent their formative years in Namibia and Zambia. They have retained their home of twenty five years in Hout Bay outside of Cape Town, South Africa where they spend a few months each summer with family and friends.
Stewart has been passionate about boats and the sea from an early age. In 2004, having sold a successful business he founded 20 years previously, Stewart decided to follow his passion and acquired his first sailing catamaran, a Privilege 435. He and Donné set off on a four year sailing voyage during which time they discovered the beauty of the Virgin Islands. In 2010 they commissioned the building of Azuria, a 51 foot Lagoon sailing catamaran for the purpose of charter in the Virgin Islands.
Having travelled the globe extensively, Donné's cuisine is influenced by many nations and cultures. She honed her cooking skills at the renowned Sense of Taste Culinary School in Cape Town and she enjoys offering her guests a selection of her favorite dishes.
Stewart and Donné are both ASA certified yacht skippers who together have been cruising and racing monohulls and catamarans since 1982 and have logged over 25,000 nautical miles. As experienced and competent sailors and with their commitment to quality and personal service, they will provide you with all the ingredients for a memorable yachting vacation.
This charismatic and fun loving couple who enjoy the ocean, the outdoors and making new friends, consider life on board Azuria to be both a privilege and an adventure to be shared with others.
Guest feedback
Stewart and Donne' were wonderful hosts. The Azuria is a beautiful vessel. She is very well appointed and Stewart and Donne' take great care and pride in her appearance and proper function. I didn't want to leave. The food was wonderful. I have never eaten so well and in such quantity for 5 straight days.
The whole experience was very positive - both working with Sailing Directions and then Stewart and Donne'. I would be happy to serve as a reference for Sailing Directions and Stewart and Donne'.

We had a wonderful time on Azuria last week. Donne' and Stewart were very gracious hosts and the weather was just perfect. Donne's meals were certainly one of the high points of each day. Each meal was not only delicious but presented as well as in any fine restaurant. Azuria is a beautiful yacht that is spacious and provides several private gathering areas. Our group particularly enjoyed the amazing Caribbean night sky from the seating area on the bow.
